Advanced Discussion Description

What is an advanced English speaker able to do?

There are different descriptions of what language learners can do at different levels.  I will describe the Interagency Language Roundtable descriptors, which is the system used by many government agencies and is the basis of the scale used by the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL).

Watch this brief presentation that describes the different levels, including some tips in reaching the next level:  https://docs.google.com/present/view?id=ddt54x2r_219gc2w7qdx&autoStart=true&loop=true

The activities on this website are designed to help English language learners move from level 2 (limited working proficiency) to level 3 (general professional proficiency).  Consequently, most of the activities will be challenging.  If they were easy, you wouldn't need to do them!
